HOPE (Home for Orphan Poor & Education) is a National level charitable, Non Governmental Organization (NGO) registered under Social Service Society.
Our mission started on 15 August 1997. HOPE was inaugurated by a group of concerned young Indian citizens, on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of India's Independence.
HOPE is concerned with the welfare of the underprivileged children, especially orphan and poor girl children, primarily to promote their education. Complementary to this object, we are also engaged in other humanitarian tasks to extend our activities for the services of the needy and neglected without any discrimination — social, political or economic — on our own as well as in collaboration with Local, National and International Organizations.
In the field of education we sponsor children by meeting their schooling expenses. There are about five hundred such children under our patronage at different schools in various States in India. Special Homes for disabled and Special Schools for child laborers — namely the Good Life Center for mentally retarded girls at Tambaram and the Transit School for children of quarry workers at Thirisoolam — are our adopted institutions, and the former is still in force. Evening Schools for poor students are being conducted at temple premises in Coimbatore.
Awareness Programs coupled with Finance Campaigns are held in schools, and students are involved in propagating the cause of HOPE by collecting sponsorships and selling HOPE greeting cards & paintings, the proceeds of which are ploughed back into the schools to sponsor more deprived students.
In Health and Environment, awareness programs in schools and among the public are held targeting rural folks and urban slum dwellers. Clean and Green projects and their importance are highlighted. Medical Clinics and Camps are conducted to cater to the lower strata of society. Collaboration with Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations at Local, National and International levels is a significant feature of HOPE's modus operandi.
