ONGOING PROJECTS

Education

In the field of education we sponsor children by meeting their schooling expenses. There are about five hundred such children under our patronage at different schools in various States. Our list of applicants aspiring to be HOPE Scholars is an unending one.

Sponsor Events: Under the HOPE sponsor event, numerous students from different schools across India receive educational support to underprivileged orphan and poor children by meeting their school fees, stationery and dress etc. This is an ongoing project.

HOPE Study Center: Inaugurated in temple premises in Coimbatore, classes are conducted after school hours for poor children to help them complete school lessons. This is an ongoing project.

Nirmala Matha Convent: An orphanage has been planned for school dropout children to continue their education at Nirmala Matha Convent in Coimbatore. This is a future project.

Health

Medical Clinic: HOPE's free weekly Medical Clinic was inaugurated at Kottivakkam Kuppam in collaboration with the School of Nursing, D.D. General Hospital & Research Centre, Andhra Mahila Sabha, Chennai. Subsequently the clinic was shifted to the HOPE office to cater to the residents of Palavakkam Kuppam, Kottivakkam Kuppam & Palkalai Nagar. This is an ongoing project.

Sri Vigneswara Old Age Home: Provision of free medical treatment to all inmates at their premises in Palavakkam. This is an ongoing project.

Environment

HOPE, from its inception, has launched eco-friendly programs under the "Clean and Green" project among students in various schools. Conservation of natural resources is emphasized in meetings organized to introduce the activities of HOPE. Tree planting programs are conducted and continue to this day.

World Environment Day is observed annually. Environmental Pollution Awareness campaigns are conducted every 5th June in various towns in collaboration with local service organizations — see the Awareness Camp page for examples.
